At five years old, Niecy Nash was sitting in her grandmother's living room when she saw an elegant black actress grace the television screen. The sight of the luminous Lola Falana inspired Nash to decide "I'm gonna be fabulous and be on TV!" And that is exactly what she has done, picking up the nickname "Lola" along the way. Though born in Los Angeles, Nash has never considered herself an "L.A. girl." After spending much of her childhood in St. Louis, she returned to Los Angeles on the quest to become a performer.

Currently, Nash stars simultaneously in two successful TV projects. She is the host of the Style Network's No. 1 rated program, the home makeover show "Clean House," for which she has been honored with the 2007 Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Program Host by the American Women in Radio & Television. Additionally, she stars as the no-nonsense "Deputy Raineesha Williams" on the comedy series "Reno 911!," a half-hour unscripted spoof of COPS.

Nash majored in theater at California State University Dominguez Hills, where she graduated with more than a bachelor's degree. She had a husband and a baby, and she was on a mission! Determined to make a name for herself, Nash made the fateful decision to call a casting director she had auditioned for months earlier. When he answered the phone, she said, "I don't know if you remember me. My name's Niecy Nash. I'm broke, I've got a baby, and I need a job." After asking her to audition for a film he was casting, she landed her first paid acting gig in a scene opposite Whoopi Goldberg in the feature film "Boys on the Side."
