The first fall season of So You Think You Can Dance was loaded with surprises.

Adam Shankman pulled up a permanent seat behind the judges table, and the show introduced a "Meet the Top 20" episode that showcased the finalists in their styles before the competition kicked off, allowing fans the opportunity to meet the new crop of contestants at their very best. Although a tap dancer had never broken into the Top 20 in previous seasons, Season 6 had three (Bianca Revels, Phillip Attmore, and Peter Sabasino). And when Latin Ballroom beauties Ashleigh & Ryan Di Lello both made it to the Top 20, they became the first married couple to compete on the show. But the biggest surprise of all was B-boy Jonathan "Legacy" Perez who inspired street dancers everywhere after his partner Kathryn McCormick helped him master Stacey Tookey's contemporary choreography to "2 Steps Away."

The season ended with a six-person finale, where Boston native Russell Ferguson became the first Krumper to win the title of America's Favorite Dancer.
